Have you ever had the perfect steak? Some might say that you have to go to places like Outback Steakhouse, The Chop House, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse, or any other fancy restaurant. If you think that any of these places have the best steak, than you are wrong. The perfect steak can be made from anybody’s house, and is reasonably easy to make.
First, you have to make sure that you have all the right ingredients and spices for making your steak. Personally, my favourite type of steak to get is either a: ribeye, New York strip, sirloin, or T-bone steak. You can get these types of steaks at any butcher shop, Whole Foods, Plum Market, Meijer, and many other stores. These types of steak are normally anywhere from 6-12 dollars a pound. The second thing you need to have is all the seasonings and other ingredients that make this steak so great! You’ll need: soy sauce, olive oil, fresh lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, dried basil, dried parsley flakes, white pepper, cinnamon, salt, pepper, and cajun. If you prefer to have your steak a little more on the spicy side, than make sure you include hot sauce and crushed red pepper to your shopping list! Now, you’re ready to start making your perfect steak! In order for your steak to be juicy and delicious, it has to marinate for about 6 hours. To start the marinating process,in a big bowl, mix together: ⅓ cup of soy sauce, ½ cup of olive oil, ⅓ cup of lemon juice, ¼ cup of Worcestershire sauce, 1 ½ tablespoons of garlic powder, 3 teaspoons of dried basil, 1 ½ tablespoons of dried parsley flakes, 1 teaspoons of white pepper, ¼ teaspoons of hot sauce, 1 tablespoon of crushed red pepper, and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon. When these are all mixed together, place the uncooked steak on the bowl. When putting the steak in the bowl, make sure the steaks don’t overlap each other. Once the steaks are in the bowl, place plastic wrap over the bowl and place it in the fridge. Every hour, flip the steaks on the marinade, so the steak gets an equal amount of marinade per side. After 6 hours of your steaks marinating, you are finally ready to grill them! Grilling your steaks is the most important part to the perfect steak. You have 5 different ways that you can cook your steak. You can choose to cook it: rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, or well. If you like your steaks bloody, than you would want to cook your steaks rare. If you don’t like any blood, than you should cook your steak well. If you want your steak to be cooked rare, than cook your steak on high on your grill for about 4 minutes on each side (depending on how thick your steak is). If you want your steak medium rare, cook it for 5 minutes on each side. For a medium steak, cook it for 6 minutes. For a medium well steak, cook it for 7 minutes on each side. And last, if you want your steak well done, cook it for 8+ minutes per side. Remove your steaks from your marinade, and place it on the grill. Put it on for however much you want it done for. When your steak is done, you can top it off with some A1 steak sauce, or eat it plain; either way are delicious! I hope you enjoy your perfect steak! |
