Favorite Foods
Aidan Delfuoco I love food. It can bring people together, brighten your day, and overall helps to create a very diverse and productive world. I have been eating food for nearly 16 years now, and I would like to share with you some of my favorites that I have come across during this time. Pumpkin Bread This has to be my all-time favorite food. I’m not sure why but pumpkin bread just tastes so good. Freshly baked pumpkin bread or muffins can not be topped by anything. The only downside, however, is the fact that all pumpkin products are typically only sold seasonally, meaning you can really only find them in the fall. Peanut Butter My whole life I’ve been eating peanut butter. All through pre-school, kindergarten, elementary school, and even now I have it nearly every day. It is especially important to me as I am a vegetarian, and it provides an important source of protein to supplement the other things I eat. You can eat it in sandwiches, on fruit, in energy bars, and almost anything else you can think of. Nearly everything tastes better with peanut butter, and that’s why it’s one of my favorite foods. Burritos Mexican food is definitely my favorite type of food, and although I’m a vegetarian and I don’t eat meat on tacos or burritos, I can usually substitute beans in its place. On a good burrito I would look for beans, cheese/queso, lettuce, sour cream, and maybe some guacamole. My favorite burrito places are typically Chipotle, Qdoba, or Taco Bell, but I also love to go to actual mexican restaurants to get food as well. I don’t usually eat tacos just because I like burritos more, but sometimes I’ll get one to switch it up. Burritos are just such a perfect combination of tastes and make for a great lunch, dinner, or even breakfast. Grapes Although there is a lot of good fruit, grapes are probably my favorite. There is nothing better than a fresh batch of grapes that are not too juicy, and not too firm. This leads to my next point that while grapes are very tasty, the experience can easily be ruined if the batch is mushy, too sour, too big, etc. So while this doesn't usually happen to me, it is possible to get a bad batch of grapes, but this also is the case for most other fruits and vegetables, so it’s not a deal breaker for me. Tea Definitely my drink of choice, there are so many flavors of tea to choose from and it usually tastes very good. Additionally it comes as iced tea or hot tea, and both are great in their individual ways. A popular type of iced tea is Arnold Palmer, which I enjoy as well. Some of my favorite teas are black, green, fruity, and some herbal teas, but I’ve never really liked earl grey or chai teas. I’ll typically have hot tea in the morning for the caffeine, and then iced tea with lunch. |
