Morgan Fancher is an aspiring tween pastry chef and has found her passion in life Cooking! To improve on her cooking skills she has taken cooking classes around Saline and Ann Arbor. She started a large collection of cooking supplies at home; this is no doubt the job she will want later in her life.
In the first few months of her starting to cook, it was choppy, “toasting half the things” she made, but still trying to get better than she was before she seriously started. Since starting with cooking seriously about three years ago she has made many pastries and even some other dishes like pasta for the family. She has improved immensely on her cooking skill compared to what they were when she was first starting to cook. She has impressed many people by her skills and will probably continue to prove to everyone that she has succeeded and will keep succeeding in the cooking field. When asked where Morgan had found her passion for cooking she responded with this: “I’d like to think I found my passion for cooking early. Thinking back it is probably when we started the family tradition to make 14-16 batches of cookies all in one day during the winter holidays.” When asked this, sitting in the other room, Dixie (her mother) was amazed that she even remembers starting the tradition. “The tradition started when she was four and when Sierra was only six years old, she never ceases to amaze the people around her.” When Morgan Fancher was only twelve years old, she proved that she was interested in cooking by buying a kitchenaid mixer with money she earned by working in the family's upholstery shop. “My favorite thing to make with my kitchenaid mixer?... That is pasta!” She said. Looking back to when she first made the pasta was funny, having all of the mess of making homemade pasta was everywhere. “Morgans homemade pasta is always one of my favorite things she makes,” said Dixie, her mother, and one of her bigger influences for her to start cooking. From making cookies to pasta to even other pastries Morgan “never ceases to amaze us” with her skill and wanting to cook. Now at the age 13, she has tried many recipes and has many successful cooking achievements under her belt to call herself a “master chef”. Learning how to cook is one of the biggest achievements in life, from being on the basketball and soccer teams for a combined total of six years. Being a multi-talented kid is hard, but for Morgan Fancher it is everyday life. Trying again is the key to success. When asked what she thinks her future holds for cooking, she says that she doesn't know. She would like to become a caterer for a career so she can work with cakes, one of her (out of many) things that she loves to make. “Being a caterer just sounds like fun, so why wouldn't I chose a job that I love.” Says Morgan. |
